History Of Museum

Although it has never been a problem because of adequate natural ventilation, a problem annex that was completed in 2016 was noticed for different issues such as mildew, insects, and corrosion since there were no windows or openings. Since 2017, the annexed museum depot has been the subject of an investigation and is now undergoing reconstruction. In addition, the Napier Museum itself is now undergoing refurbishment.

The interesting depictions of Siva, Vishnu, Parvathi, and Lakshmi in the Silpa Sastras may be found in the bronze show. The pictures made of metal reflect the characteristics of the South Indian sculpting style that was popular from the 8th to the 18th centuries. The earliest metal image in the state is a depiction of Vishnu that dates back to the 8th century and was found at the Ambalapuzha temple in Central Travancore. The artwork was created in the Pallava style.
