In Jodhpur, Rajasthan, India, the Mehrangarh Fort sprawls over an area of around 486 hectares (1,200 acres). The complex was built in the year 1459 by the Rajput monarch Rao Jodha on a hilltop that is about 122 meters above the surrounding plain.
