The Building Design Of The Victoria Monument
The Victoria Monument was constructed out of white Makrana marble that was obtained from Jodhpur in Rajasthan, India. During the time, William Emerson served as the President of the Royal Institute of British Architects. Emerson was the principal architect of the project. Vincent Esch, the supervising architect, worked beside him to provide assistance. The historic site’s building design is an example of an Indo-Saracenic revivalist style that incorporates a variety of other architectural styles, including Egyptian, Venetian, Deccan, and Islamic components. Messrs. Martin & Co. of Calcutta were given the task of constructing the monument on behalf of their client.
