To view Udaipur at its most breathtaking, go to the city’s iconic sunset point. The faint musical fountain performance and stunning sunset views have made this park renowned. Every Monday night around dusk, you may see this spectacle. It is on the southeast shore of Pichola Lake, next to Dudh Talai and in front of M.L. Verma Park. The Karnimata temple, located at the top of a ropeway that departs from the park, provides a breathtaking panorama of the metropolis below.

This garden is a popular attraction in Udaipur. When the sun is low in the sky and its rays are refracted by the Earth’s atmosphere, the resulting glow is a sight for sore eyes. We bloggers strongly suggest that everyone who visits the area go there around sunset to see the sky become brilliant shades of red and orange and to watch the fountain dance to the beat of the music.

Udaipur Sunset Point Park Timings Location Contact Details:

Udaipur’s white rooftops sparkle like gold in the setting sun’s enchanted golden light. There is a burst of color in the sky, and the whole city seems to go silent as if hypnotized by the power of nature. As we stayed in Udaipur for nearly two weeks, we made sure to catch every single sunset. On a couple of occasions, a bad case of Delhi Belly was the only thing that kept us from running off into the sunset. After exploring Udaipur, we found a number of excellent vantage points from which to see the setting sun.

Temple of Karni Mata

Karni Mata Temple is a Hindu temple and scenic lookout in Udaipur, located atop the Machla Magra Hills to the east of Lake Pichola. At dusk, when you can see the sun sinking behind the Aravali mountains, the area swells with visitors.

The temple itself is not very interesting, but the scenery is well worth the trip. It is an excellent place to see the dawn over Udaipur and offers breathtaking views of the city. You may either take a cable car up to the peak, where the temple is located, or walk up some steps for around 20 minutes.

 The Monsoon Palace:

Located 3100 meters above sea level in the Aravali mountains, the beautiful Monsoon Palace can be seen from anywhere in Udaipur. We arrived in the city and were instantly captivated by it. The challenge is in getting to the Monsoon Palace. To get to the base of the mountain, you must first take a taxi or tuk-tuk from the center of Udaipur.

We walked for about an hour uphill, but the challenge and the scenery made the heat bearable. Although, I would be weary about descending at night. To see it all at sunset, I advise taking the jeep. This is, without a doubt, the best place in all of Udaipur to see the sun setting over the city and its environs.

Tour by Boat on Lake Pichola:

Taking a boat out on Lake Pichola is a popular pastime for visitors to Udaipur since it provides a serene escape from the city. You may either go on a group trip with other people or lease a private boat and cruise at your own pace, depending on your budget.

Udaipur’s famous sunsets are best experienced from the water, making sunset boat cruises quite popular. Views of the surrounding mountains and the luxurious mansions that line the lakeshore will provide a welcome respite. You can see the luxurious Taj Lake Palace Hotel up and personal, and you may stop for a drink on Jagmandir Island if you choose.

Ambr Ghat:

One of the best places in Udaipur to take in the sunset is Ambrai Ghat. Many locals and visitors alike congregate here to watch the sun go down. However, we never experienced it being too crowded, and we were able to enjoy the tranquility of the setting sun without interruption. Ambrai Ghat is sometimes referred to as “Sunset Spot” or “Sunset Ghat” by locals.

Both the sun setting behind the mountains to the west and the golden glow of the City Palace to the east are visible from the ghat. Ambrai Ghat isn’t our go-to sunset spot in Udaipur, but its accessibility makes it a compelling choice. It’s only a five- to ten-minute stroll from most anywhere in town. As an added bonus, there is no cost associated with trying it out.
